Imagine: A Hot Summer Weekend and No Swimming Pool |

Well, no problem, listen to the following story: Splash. Loud and joyous voices. Music from a portable player. Someone swimming noisily in the pool of my neighbor two houses down the road. A car honking repeatedly. Are these French sounds? Splash again, splash, splash ... "Mira", then "Aqui", so it is Spanish. But are there really latino renters in that house? I should recognize that kind of song: Colombian? Or is it more the traditional sound of Mexico? Kids shouting, a giggle by a female. Splash, the sun, the warm summer air. A black pick-up going by my house. Later, when it comes back, the cheery sounds of a family throwing themselves at the purchased food and drinks. When I strolled by my neighbor's house late that evening there were no lights. All blinds were down, no car in the garage. A soft nightly wind, rippling water in the pool. An empty coke bottle in the middle of the square lawn, and all the pool chairs properly aligned.
